Re: Nugget's thread
Thank you Cypher. To be honest I don't think any of them like having the roof lifted up or off! Although Newtie is quite laid back about it these days. I think Nugget has been independent for so long that he likes his burrow private I might try it again but putting the teaspoon at the doorway instead of lifting the roof a bit

Re: Nugget's thread
Belated birthday wishes to little Nugget. Glad he took the cheese from you even if you only saw a bit of him!

Re: Nugget's thread
Happy belated birthday to Nugget. He must have really enjoyed that cheese! Glad he got over his fear and moved back into his house again, bless him.
I haven't had a house setup with a detachable roof before. It seems like quite a good idea so you can check on them without having to lift out their whole house.
Since my Syrian has a shoebox all his room service treats get left on a spoon in his doorway where he promptly devours them and then goes back to bed

Re: Nugget's thread
Nugget is still fairly reclusive - he loves his labyrinth house but he still runs and hides behind the wheel if I open the cage. He seems happy doing his own thing and has plenty of space and lots of tunnels still as well as his labyrinth house. I've found that he doesn't seem to mind so much if I move the slate over the large top hole in his house roof to see if he's in there - because most of the house is still covered and in darkness. He comes to the hole and looks up at me so I pop the slate back again. Just like to know he's still there and ok! Although usually I can tell by seeing if his veg has been nibbled. He never eats all of it but has a good nibbble of it so it's half the size next day.

Re: Nugget's thread
Nugget sounds quite content with life in his set up. A happy chap indeed. Just popping his little head out to show he is ok is lovely!

Re: Nugget's thread
Aww, Nugget peering out of his house sounds absolutely adorable; I'm sure it makes your day to see his cute face looking at you so sweetly. He sounds like he is so happy, cozy, and secure in his lovely labyrinth house. Bless the little darling! I just love him.
Btw, somehow, I sadly missed your post announcing his birthday back in August. Happy extremely belated birthday, Nugget! I'm so glad that you and he had a great day, and I hope you get to celebrate many more special birthdays together.
