Very! No contact at all really - although I haven't made enough effort. There is quite a bit of eye to eye conversation on occasion though - a bit like - I am happy to talk but don't touch me! Care is easier in some ways as they don't pee much. Housing is different (He just buries himself in Fitch). Although I have just bought a small labyrinth house to go at one end, which he may or may not use, but it adds a bit more interest and another "shelf". I think he might use it. If he did it would make it easier to check on him. At the moment I just rely on scratching noises and checking the veg has gone next morning.

I actually reduced the substrate early on to try and help with taming/finding him but it's made no difference lol! He's so small he just burrows under the fitch anyway and makes it into piles to dig tunnels into.

He seems happy doing his own thing but I will try and get him out more for a change of scene as he enjoyed it last time.

Nugget has been quite active recently and out and about more in the evenings. Maybe the warmer weather. Lots of noises coming from his cage. Sometimes scratching on the floor of the cage. The other day lots of loud scratching! When I looked he was inside the cardboard hay house scratching in there - so he's discovered it. The other night it was clanging! And he was doing something to the bars at the back lower corner. I wouldn't call it bar chewing exactly but certainly doing something to them. I guess robos can bar chew. That has stopped now.

He is quite confident out and about in the cage but if I open the door he runs and hides and doesn't come out again. Have a little video of him but haven't had chance to upload it yet.

Sounds like Nugget is a very busy and happy chap. Plenty to occupy him in his cage. Probably means he does not want to be interrupted by anyone!

It does sound like he's having lots of fun as well as keeping you guessing just what he's getting up to!

Lol, Nugget is probably doing a bit of renovating! If only we were able to see all that our busy, little hams were up to when they aren't visible!!! He sounds like he is having a grand time keeping himself occupied in his cage, lol.

Nugget has been out and about a bit in the evenings recently. I've had a new labyrinth house for him for a while and been plastikoting it the last few days, so decided to put it in his cage last night - at the end where it doesn't disturb anything much. As he was out and about I thought it was a good opportunity to have him out of the cage while I did it - but gave up on that lol - he just played hide and seek for ages. So I left him in there while I did it. And he kept coming over to see what was going on and running in his wheel and on his saucer in between.

Never as easy as it seems - had to remove a lot of substrate at one end to get the house on the base of the cage (so it doesn't squash him if he tried to tunnel under it) and then replace the substrate inside and around the outside of the house. Then had to replace his water bottle and have it in a different place as the house was in the way. While I was off sorting out the water bottle he had been inside the house and kicked some sand around in the potty inside and came out of the front door.

I then had quite a drop in the right front corner so started again and tried it with the house higher up on legs (so he could tunnel under it) - that didn't work as it was too high without moving the shelf - so stuck with the subterranean house.

And kept coming back to inspect it and then running on his wheel again. Today he is out and about quite a bit and not quite sure what he is doing but I'm sure he'll settle in a few days - he may or may not move into the house! But as he's out quite a bit I think he's thinking about it. Where the house is, is where he had his second burrow (his main one is in front of the wheel).

In the end I screwed a piece of cork over the exposed corner.

So here are some photos (dim lighting and fast moving robo! Hence the odd blurry one).

He had lots of extra treats to make up for the upheaval at one side of his cage
