Re: Nugget's thread
Nugget sounds totally adorable snacking in his bowl, I'm not surprised even OH couldn't resist those cute charms
He obviously has his own ideas about changing his diet gradually lol! can't say I blame him for ignoring the pellets in favour of the nice new food, I'm sure he'll be fine sorting it out for himself.

Re: Nugget's thread
Lovely to hear that Nugget has been out exploring his cage now and having a snack - he must be feeling more confident. That was such a shame that the noise of the door startled him - I hope you manage to find a solution to this. Its so adorable that Nugget nibbles around the edge of his veg - that must be the best bit! Sounds like he approves of his new food mix.

Re: Nugget's thread
Thank you SKB and Cypher. Yes I think food variety and treats must seem a lot nicer than boring old lumps of all-in-one (which also seem quite big for such a small hammy!) He seems ok with it. Maybe he is eating some of the nuggets as well, I don't know. But they're not going down. Nugget ignoring nuggets lol. So far he has taken everything except - fresh coconut, a small dried elderberry and parsley. Pumpkin seeds always get snaffled (I put 2 or 3 in the wheel).

Re: Nugget's thread
I'm glad that Nugget is getting braver and more confident. I must say that I don't blame him for not wanting his nuggets when there are plenty of other delicious yummies to be gobbled up first. Maybe he will begin to get a taste of them soon enough.

Re: Nugget's thread
Sounds as though Nugget is enjoying all the variety and treats in his life now. Not surprised and his set up must be really enriching for him.

Re: Nugget's thread
He is so lucky. That is a truly marvelous set up that you have made for him. Tanks and robos go so well together.
I love watching Seren and Daffodil in their (little) tank. They sleep together and look like two baby birds when they first wake up xx

Re: Nugget's thread
Thank you Dreamtree, Coco and Flower Fairy. This afternoon I saw him out and drinking from the bottle. Whew! I was wondering if he could use it ok as had never seen him drink, but he seemed full of energy so I was guessing he was ok and getting water. I'm not keen on the sippy bottle but he used it ok and it fixes to the tank well.
Lovely that Seren and Daffodil look like baby birds I would have loved a pair. I think single hammies get very independent!

Re: Nugget's thread
The Pets at Home nuggets didn’t go down well with my hamsters either and they refused to eat them even when I tried adding them to a mix. Mine will gladly eat the Science Selective but always left the nuggets. I think I threw them away in the end.

Re: Nugget's thread
Yes they don't look too appetising - it was what he was on before so I guess he had no option but to eat them.

Re: Nugget's thread
Good to hear Nugget has been out and about Glad he's enjoying his bunny food too, my boys really seem to enjoy it as well.
I hope you manage to get something sorted with your lid on the Kerry.
