Yay - the beefy dog food is all gone. I put it out at lunch time and just went to feed him at tea time for the evening and the little dish is clean. Just hope he's eaten it and not pouched/hoarded it but suspect he's eaten it.

So tonight he has his usual veg, hamster food and a couple of extras - plus a small bit of jelly with the Metacam set in it. So hope he likes jelly. If he doesn't I'll discard the other 9 bits and use baby food.

So decided to give the Baytril and Metacam at different times as if he has two tasty fresh morsels at the same time he might not eat both, but if he has one during the day and one in the evening then he's more likely to eat both.

The jelly was a faff though for a tiny cube with tiny amounts of metacam mixed in, so will probably go with baby food from now on.

Sounds like a good plan. With robos eating so little at a time, spacing out the laced treats is sensible. Also, letting him take it himself, even if over time, means that the meds go down without stressing Nugget out. That must be a benefit.

Well done Nugget! Good to hear he's eaten the meaty meds. I think feeding the two separately is the best way to go too.

The jelly has gone this morning too. So Lunchtime and Evening "treat meds" it is.

I have Vectis to thank for the tip about putting the Baytril in a tiny amount of Country Hunter dog food. It has been snaffled up again today and a clean plate left. Just under a pea sized amount of meat in jelly - it must taste very nice and meaty to disguise the Baytril. It's the beef one I'm using, but have a pack of various flavoured pouches so may try one of the others when this one is past it's use by (once opened).

Ah! Plan working. Really pleased to hear that otherwise meds twice a day for a robo sounds tricky and stressful to say the least.

Thank you Coco and Charlie Fingers crossed it continues for the next two weeks. No sign of Nugget - he only seems to come out when he knows there's no-one around - but he must be ok if he's taking food.

Just been catching up with Nugget's news, I had a lump in my throat reading about his vet visit, taking then not taking his medication and now back to accepting them with tasty treats. I so hope your gorgeous tiny boy is on the mend. I loved the pics of Nugget in your hand, that has got to be the most adorable & cutest pic.
