Thank you M&M - I wish I had tried a bit harder with the taming earlier, but had an unusual year and he never wanted to come out of his cage. He hasn't been out for ages. Always hard work getting him out! He seems very happy and contented in his cage. But yes it's great to be able to hold him and I feel less nervous about trying to pick up a robo now! I am not sure if he liked being held and stroked or was just terrified and daren't move ha ha. But he sat on my hand for ages and didn't try and run away. Seemed to like having his tummy stroked and behind his ears .
Oh yes - and I had a robo up my trouser leg I sat in the playpen with him for a while. Luckily he didn't go far and turned round and came out again.
Would like to have him out regularly - if he would just hop on myhand or into a tube, but he usually just runs and hides. We'll see.
Yes I find chocho doesn’t like coming out of the cage either, but she’s almost the opposite - it’s easy to get her out but it’s pointless as she wants to go back almost immediately haha. Aw tummy strokes how sweet - hopefully he was fine with it, if they really don’t like something they’re more likely to bolt I think!
Aww he looks very handsome Serendipity. Glad to hear he's mellowing out as he's gotten older and you're able to hold him

Lovely to see more photos of Nugget, he's such a cute & handsome little guy
That's great that you can hold him now too.

Nugget is going to see the vet tomorrow afternoon to get the lump looked at - it's underneath to one side a bit. He seems fine in himself and was out and about in the cage last night being active and running on his saucer and looking quite perky. Here's a very short video of him in the playpen the other day. He ran around the playpen for ages sniffing, exploring and running through a long tube, and using the saucer and having a wash - seemed happy being in the playpen - but then started scratching and chewing at the corners which is when I put him back in his cage.
So here he is. Nice to have a close up video of him. I think the lump is causing him some practical difficulties climbing onto things but that may be his age as well. He is very active otherwise.
Good luck at the vet, hope it goes well & the lump is nothing too serious.
He's clearly still full of beans & super speedy on his saucer
