Harvey's has changed, he appears more throughout the day and can be up from 4am to 8am.

I hope that Koppiage is just going through a phase due to the season; it will be sad to not see her much. Fingers crossed that she isn't too reclusive all the time now.

The beast has been spotted

I was actually beginning to worry as to whether or not she was okay. I stayed up until 2 am two nights in a row to see if perhaps I'd catch her, but no sign of her I didn't want to go digging through the bedding for her, as I didn't wish to disturb her, but I was very worried. Last night though, I opened the cage, and spotted a tiny brown blur going mad! She let me pet her a bit before disappearing without a trace. She has 11 inches of bedding, so part of me thinks that may be contributing to her reclusive behavior. Oh well, hopefully I'll spot her again soon

Glad to hear she has been spotted and petted. I have wondered the same about deep substrate contributing to reclusive behaviour.

I wondered about having less substrate for a while to get a earlier wake up routine in place. Then increasing the depth of substrate again.

Glad you had a sighting of your little one Drago!

Deep substrate will no doubt contribute to a lack of appearances, if you want to tame them & get them into a routine with you it is generally better to begin with less then add more later but if you're happy with them just living a more natural life with little interaction then just leave it be, personal choice really I think.

Lol "the beast". Best nickname for a tiny little robo ever! It's great that she let you pet her if you want to try less substrate, that may help but it's up to you. I don't have any experience with robos unfortunately.

Aww glad you had a sighting of Koppi I seen my reclusive Jaska today for the first time in quite a few days too.

The deep bedding does make it easier to hide away and especially when they are so small they can move about at the bottom without even distrurbing the top layers of bedding making it hard to know what they are up to and where they are. I agree with the others, I think it's a personal choice as to the less or more substrate, I think it would definitely be worth a try though if you wanted to have a routine with her

Now you see me, now you don't, so glad you made contact, she's very busy with all that substrate, that's total bliss.

How wonderful that you had a sighting and petting opportunity with Kopi. I'm glad that everything is fine, and I certainly hope that she will be coming out and spending more time with you again soon, Drago. Whether or not you decide to have more or less substrate, it certainly appears that Kopi is doing absolutely great and having a lovely time.
