Does Dennis-Sama, a young and new Roborovski Hamster need a friend?
New hamster servant here, and loving ever moment of my servitude!
So, I was wondering, does my master feel lonely sometimes? would he like a playmate? these are questions that keep me awake between feeds and playtimes!
I understand from reading around that two can get very territorial, but Its a resounding "can" and not guaranteed all of the time. Dennis is new around here and still getting acquainted with his new home so I think now if anytime was a good opportunity to introduce a playmate.
I am of course here for advice, and am willing to listen.
This is his habitat, should you want to know where he is living to take into consideration possible division of the habitat.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Does Dennis-Sama, a young and new Roborovski Hamster need a friend?
Unfortunately, he cannot have a friend introduced to him at this point Robos can live in pairs granted one very important detail, that they were raised together. However, even sibling and parent/offspring pairs never really end well and generally must be seperated or they wind up hurting one another fatally. You should never introduce two unfamiliar hamsters together as it will almost certainly result in the death of one or both of them. If he had a partner with him from birth until now, it would be a different story in that they could possibly live with one another, but because he doesn't, he unfortunately never can. Don't worry though, he won't be lonely! Hamsters are solitary by nature and only come together (in opposite sex pairs) for breeding purposes before heading on their way. Instead, try and offer him as much of your love as you possibly can Best wishes

Brilliant, thanks Drago!
Despite it being contrary to what I wanted that is good sound advice! and honestly what I expected.
Looks like Dennis will drown in our affection in his new home!

Very responsible ham parent you are for thinking in Dennis-Sama's best interests first! Hey you never know, if you're like me, you may just end up with another ham anyways (in a seperate cage of course) you can never have just one can you
