This situation has definitely turned chaotic. Good on you for being kind and helping out though! I hope for this family, their hamsters, and your sake, this all resolves soon. Let us know if you ever hear any other updates in the future

You've offered them good proper advice and if they don't want to take it then this isn't for you. The last thing you need is problems when you're still grieving for Charlie.

It certainly does sound very chaotic, it's a shame they wouldn't take your advice. I fear they are going to have more unwanted litters and I worry about the one they put back in!

Me too! (Worrying about the one they put back and the other three) But I'm having to detach a bit. I've passed on the info as tactfully as I could and I can't do much more. It would be nice if they kept in contact - I'd like to know they got sorted and no further litters.

You're right to detach a bit (as hard as it is when you only want the best for the little ones), you've done as much as you can really. Fingers crossed they manage to get things sorted and have no more litters.
