So if that's the case picking out 2 sisters would be perfect I'd find out details or visit them to see what's going on, if it's not too far away?

That's what's confusing Cinnamon Bear From what I can work out there are two Mothers and one daughter living together lol! Must be a mistake somewhere - I'll check tomorrow.

Have now heard back from my first contact who say one of the boys has now been established as a girl. So they have 4 girls and 1 boy now. Am checking if they have separated the girl that was a possible boy. Goodness my mind is boggled with all these robos!

You sure sound like you have your hands full! Maybe a nice cup of tea and a relaxing night on the couch would do you good Hamsters having surprise litters are such stressful things as one missexed hamster can cause the population to grow exponentially! Hope you get yourself a nice pair of robos in the end

Morning time by the time u get this. Just thought u should consider a pair of Russians. They would be soooo much more fun than robos, but it's up to you, don't rush into anything. Not that u asked for my advice

Thank you Cinnamon Bear - no I'm not rushing into anything. I had said I would take a pair from this local litter until they realised the sexing was an issue! Then they stopped responding after I sent some info on sexing so assumed I had annoyed them maybe! Then found this wonderful rescue with loads of hammies. Now the local litter people have been back in contact. Mainly I want to help them make sure they don't get any more unwanted litters, so am just holding fire on everything.

The fact that I can't find any info on Mother/daughter pairs suggests it isn't something that is done usually, which Coco pointed out.

Pairs in general are quite risky as it is!It wouldn't be too hard to set up stacked wire cages for lots of robos though,so you could take in quite a few with relative ease if you really wanted to

Thank you Amityville No I wouldn't want lots of Robos! Wouldn't have the time for it unfortunately. A pair would be ok as I have two spare cages Just in case. There are cases of pairs living together for life, although I know it isn't common.

Two sisters would be fine, as would a mother and her daughter. It's more important that their temperaments mesh - not all personalities get along of course.

Best of luck! I hope all goes well.
