Re: long nails?
One last question before tomorrow. My baby nail set has scissors and clippers. I'm assuming scissors are much smoother and more comfortable for the hams?!

Re: long nails?
Scissors are a bit risky as they might make a nail flake off in a weird layered way.It is hard to explain, but it can be very uncomfortable and could cause problems. If you were just cutting off a tiny portion it wouldn't be a big risk, but with long nails going higher up there is a lot more room for such errors to occur!

Re: long nails?
Uhoh! So would clippers be better? Is it uncomfortable for the hamsters?

Re: long nails?
Clippers would be a lot better I'd imagine it wouldn't be very comfortable having a somewhat split nail and having to walk and catch it on things,or the chance of it ripping at the quick and causing blood loss and pain even after the nail is trimmed

Re: long nails?
Let's go with that then! I'll let you all know how it goes.
Honestly I had such a big panic yesterday thinking there was a spec of blood on some bedding - turned out to be the shell of a seed they'd discarded with bad lighting.
Thank goodness they're still safe happy hamsters!
