4 robos up for adoption
Sooo today I called in at p@h for a spare water bottle and food. In the adoption centre is a group of 4 male robos that have been returned to the store. I'm still thinking about them! I'm worried they could end up with someone who doesnt know to watch them closely for fighting but I also have no experience with groups . Had a quick read up this afternoon but not too sure if I am set up to take them. I currently have 4 syrians and a hybrid dwarf and I have a spare hamster heaven and 4 spare samla bin cages. Would a hh be big enough for a group? Thanks !

Re: 4 robos up for adoption
I don't know about the cage hamster heaven but I hope it works for you. Looks like your prepared with four seperate bins in case of fall-outs. It's a lot of extra responsibility. Make sure it's not an impulsive decision is all as everybody is well aware of that hamsters are very addictive for some reason

Re: 4 robos up for adoption
Thanks for replying, I dont want to end up making a mess of things if I go back for them but I also dont want them to end up somewhere in a tiny cage. Tough choice. I have plenty of spare cages and I have my own home with my partner but I can just imagine the look on my mums face if she visits and I have more hams! I already have 5 hams and 8 rats nearly all of whom are rescues.

Four hamsters is a lot, so if you do make sure you are prepared. I am not sure if the HH will be big enough? You could seperate into 2 and 2 maybe? Good luck xx

You could split them into two pairs with a pair per samla? That way you wouldn't have to worry about bar spacing.

That's awesome that you rescue many pets, however, if the number of pets become a burden it then becomes not a good thing. Hope you make the right decision whatever you decide

Re: 4 robos up for adoption
Keep in mind too not everyone who does rescues is going to put them into a small cage. It's not fair to stretch your resources in ways that will impact the quality of life for your other animals, but if you can handle it, I would say go for it. It can be a really tough call.
As Cinnamon bear put it, they are addictive. I was only going to get one, I wound up with two, and I am still drooling over the little robos in the shop. >.<
