Default Help

Hi,
Im new to this forum and im not sure if something like this has been posted before.

I have a 5 month old robo hamster. She is very lively, loves her wheel and love to dig, very active.
I have managed to tame her really quickly aswell.

I have just weighed her she is 15g.
She is my first ever robo hamster, so im not sure if that is a good weight or she hasn't grown fully.

She doesn't look underweight. Has nice fur and clear eyes.

Im just looking for some advice thanks

I have added a cute picture of her

Hello and congratulations on your new hamster. I can't help you with the exact weight but chances are if she doesn't look under or overweight, she's probably just fine. Just make sure you don't have her on a mix with seeds and nuts as too many can be fattening. Plain hamster pellets or blocks are fine. Make sure she has things to chew on as well.

She's very beautiful.

Hi & welcome to HC.
Your little robo is very cute!
15g is small, I think (not entirely certain) that 20-25g is more normal for a fully grown robo. If she doesn't feel at all boney she may just be a very small robo but that is tiny!
What do you feed her & how much is she eating? Dwarf hams generally do better on a mix with small seeds rather than blocks or a syrian mix with the larger pieces.

I didn't know that.. my robos did be the on the blocks rather than a mix and my current dwarfs seem to be the same way

She's really cute! Glad you were able to tame her already. Think they are fully grown around 6 mo, may grow a little more? She might like meal worms? They are 50 % fat & also high in protein, which is good just in moderation. My robo likes papaya treats a lot too

They may not be getting enough nutrition then AnyaAndLyra, sometimes blocks can just be too big for them to manage easily, they do tend to be a lot happier on a ham mix that contains the smaller seeds (& maybe some small biscuit or pellet pieces) as it's much closer to their natural diet & easier for them to eat.
Which country are you in? The type of ham food available varies a lot depending on where you are.
