Baby Robo escape!!! Suggestions Please - Page 8

Thanks everyone. I will give some thought to their names but I do have a geology/rock/gemstone theme to all my hams so may need to find tough and resilient stone names for them.
They have decided that they want to share the small wheel and sleep together on it. I was worried that they may not have been together and would not get on but they were very happy with each other and I will see how long that lasts...knowing what Robos can be like!

It has certainly been an adventure and I am hanging on to the humane traps as you know how slippy Robos can be at times

Their handled brothers are really so chilled they have to be pursuaded to go back into the cage and seem to love just sitting in my hand and being stroked and having a leisurely run around on me...just like "normal" hamsters...so I hope it is not too late for these little guys to mellow. If they take after their parents there is certainly hope.

Awww i love the idea of robos that love to be held ... mine are STILL at the watching only stage. I am sure you will easily find homes for your sweeties.

I am still a bit surprised at how a "tame" Robo compares with the ones from pet shops...and the ones that had escaped of course!
I know i will find homes but it is gonna be hard to say goodbye to my first Robo litter and I have a surprise Winter White litter (I had thought she did not "take" with the male)...until found babies already here and eyes open! and they will distract me until the next planned litter! Yay!

Pet shop hamsters usually haven't been handled from a young age or even handled at all.

I had hoped that being breeder robos they would be tame, but it wasnt the case. Still gorgeous though!

I can only imagine how hard it will be to say goodbye to your first litter. No doubt you will get some lovely people to offer them homes which will soften the blow.

Just curious how you find homes in time? Is there a pet store you sell to or just word of mouth? Must be fun being a breeder with lots of furry babies (except when babies escape of course).

I am going to advertise on preloved, pets4homes and other online resources and may sell at Shows once I have decided whether to keep any of them for Show or breeding...that applies to both my Robos and Winter Whites!

I do get information about the prospective "parents" and have been known to turn down those that did not seem appropriate.

I do not have any faith in pet shops so would not trust them to sell responsibly.
