As I said, definitely only two missing pups...just have to keep my eyes peeled at all times when I put the tubes down with some cucumber. Will put a couple down now and hope thirst brings them out with the smell.
Everything crossed!

Re: Baby Robo escape!!! Suggestions Please
Not at the moment...can sometimes catch a streak in the corner of my eye but they are soooo fast...a blur...but at least that means they are still alive...or at least one of them is.
I have put down cucumber and tubes in a couple of places and am working on the bucket idea but simply have no idea where best to put it. They seem to be covering the whole bungalow with their speedy young legs so I am hoping they will at least get fluids from cucumber even if nothing else comes of it and then I can see they have been to those places and lure them back with more cucumber or banana, perhaps?

If you leave food in every room and then keep all the doors closed, you should be able to work out which room they are in. and then lay bucket traps in the room you know they're in. Good luck!

That would be an idea if they were not so fast and moving between rooms. All it will do is tell me the room they were in when they ate the food. I am just going to try and get them used to finding cucumber in set places as I am sure they will be thirsty more than hungry.

Can you put the cage with their familiar nest on the floor? And a trap near it?

Re: Baby Robo escape!!! Suggestions Please
I'd put mum or the females down in a cage and wait to see if they will come back to her or if they will come a courting to the smell if the females. Be ready with a net curtain to drop over them. Even try putting the females potty sand in a basin with a ramp going up and see it they will climb up to check it out?

Re: Baby Robo escape!!! Suggestions Please
As said above, a bucket trap or a toilet tube are definetly the best way to go, but it really depends on the ham. My little Hobart Houdini was only a few weeks old when he made his first escape.. toilet tube was what got him because I knew it was what reminded him of home the most. Try to think of just what they liked at home and that should do it. Also any HUMANE rat or mouse trap I have heard of working but it really depends how often you can check it so your hammies don't have to stay in there for long.

Thanks Souffle I will work with the female scent idea...they may only just be reaching puberty but I know what a draw the female can be to a male.
