DIY Robo cage help
Hello guys and I really need your help. I'am going to make my self a do it yourself cage for a roborovski but I don't know the sizes. I know it has to be at least 360 squared inches but how about width and lenght and height? Can you please help me? Thank you!!!

Re: DIY Robo cage help
It should be 360 square INCHES. If you have a cage that's 360 square centimeters it would be smaller than a shoebox, lol,
You'll want to look for a bin that's about 80 x 40 cm, at least. If you can go bigger, do it. Pairs like lots of room if you're still going for a pair

Re: DIY Robo cage help
If you're putting a lid on it then height doesn't matter. It just has to be tall enough they can't jump out and robos are only tiny. The 130lt IKEA Samla is the easiest option for a DIY cage I think, you just need to cut out parts for ventilation. There are a few threads about it on the forums if you have a look around in Housing or DIY.
(I havent done it myself just to be clear, but it's the first one I planning to attempt! )

Re: DIY Robo cage help
Sure, most robos are not very good climbers. My robo was in a tank that was 12 inches deep, with no lid, and couldn't get out, but still had lots of space. So I'd say use 12 inches (or about 30 centimeters) as a general minimum if you use mesh on the sides, they might be able to climb it, so make sure you have a good lid in that case

Re: DIY Robo cage help
Can you send me a private message saying how to care for robos and what food do they prefer as a species. And also the diseases or ilnesses they can have or treatment for it. Obvioussly I can research myself but if you don't mind...
