Ahh sorry for the confusion! I was close! I don't really specialise in robos, but know of people who have unuseral colours

Dark eared and flesh eared white, like in Syrians, maybe?

On a vaguely related note, is this forum the best place to keep up to date with Robo genetics, or is there anywhere else that is better?

It would be an interesting experiment to see what pied and white face/huskies produce when bred together

Good suggestion, but still not really suitable as we dont actually have any dark eared robos

I think that here and Mad About are the best forums at the moment, but the problem with robos is that there aren't many working with them so there are only a few people experimenting and recording their findings.

There are some good Dutch and Czech hamster forums with good info as it seems there are more people breeding them in mainland Europe.

There are a few other uk hamster forums but these have more members who are pet owners than breeders so there isnt much info on genetics, except for the occasional accidental litter - which can sometimes be very informative!

I completely agree that when done in the right environment, where the correct hamsters will be used and the findings recorded properly etc. it would be very interesting to see what happens when the two whites are combined The only thing i worry about is if it is done in the places that supply the large pet shops as then we would have no idea what genes were involved if we saw a white robo! We would soon have the same problems we have with pet shop syrians when there are so many colours involved they look to be a mixture

I should lurk on mad about hamsters more often, I am interested in getting into Robo breeding eventually

To make things slightly more confusing, the grey tipped ear whites that Whizzbit, his dad, brothers, children are, fade to pure white with age. Whizzbit hasn't a hint of his grey tips left at all now
