Introducing Lola and Shirley
Well, my new arrivals are here!
I picked up Lola from Lou yesterday (thankyou!) and today I picked up a 5 week old female pup to go with her, who is now named Shirley. They went together into their new 30-inch tank a little while ago. It's been good so far, for a long while they were both exploring their new surroundings and didn't acknowledge each other at all. When they met face-to-face, they gave each other a good sniff, there have been a few warning squeaks from Shirley and Lola kept running away, but no biting. They've been doing that air-kissing thing robos do a bit, and are now digging away quite close to each other and seem quite relaxed, grooming etc. So fingers crossed it's going smoothly

Well they were very active early this morning, I woke up about 6am and they were running in the wheels, digging, eating, seemed to be getting on fine. I checked a little while ago, and they're sleeping in different places, but I'm not too worried about that.
The tank is so big and they're so little (Lola is smaller than my boys are, and Shirley is even smaller than her, only 5 weeks old) it takes me a while to work out where they are - there's so many different hiding places and very deep shavings at one end for them to bury into.

Just thought I'd post a little progress report - all is well in the girl's tank Lola & Shirley get on very well, they share a nest and are very active from early evening onwards, and sometimes during the day for short periods too. I can watch them playing for hours, my favourite is when they both get in the same wheel and groom each other - it being a silent spinner it rocks side to side as they do it!
Lola has put on a little bit of weight but she was quite small to start with, Shirley has grown tremendously and is actually a little bigger than Lola now, we can tell them apart though as they have slightly different shaped heads and their "eyebrow" markings are slightly different too.
So, a successful introduction here

Soon hopefully - I took some photos last weekend with my Dad's digital camera just waiting for him to email them back to me. Didn't get many but will see how they turn out
