Sad to say Bodhi already has a beau
(I tease you
!) Apparently after meeting her at the last show I went to (her first), a couple went home to their hog (after cuddling her lots during the day), and he smelt her and started chiruping and making other mating, since then, she has had a faux-long distance relationship with Quentin the boy-hog
Not sure where you are in the world, but I can make suggestions for hog breeders for the UK or the USA at least
But back to hams, I'm perfectly happy handling them every day, or spending time with them if they prefer that to being handled. But I like the idea of being able to watch them have fun. I watch Bodhi, and we have sea monkeys for the true watch-only pet (they're in a 2 gal tank, so their food is self contained, and their pump means we don't have to airate them either). Just looking for a pet that if I get pushed, can survive with 5 minutes of interaction (not including changing food, water and eyeballing nests for food stores!) once a fortnight or so. Hogs are so tempermental that if you don't handle them for a day, you feel it the next - so looking at hams because they at least have each other if I'm ever pushed for time. Hence why I'd avoid a syrian or a dog - a dog is far too high maintainance, and a syrian, well...I'd feel guilty because it was on it's lonesome. That and I had syrians when I was a child...robos seem more of a challenge with regards to speed, and interactions.
Then again, as a child, my pet mice used to sit on the back of my neck, back when I had long hair, and napped while I wandered around. I would suspect if you get a snuggler robo, it might be similar?
And a sensible question, carriers. I have a 13"x9"x9" plastic carrier (hog sized anyway), would this be suitable for getting two robos home? Or should I be looking for something smaller/bigger? I read that cardboard was utterly unrecommended for robos (but apparently okay for syrians for some reason!), and can imagine chewing, plus the rest would be a nightmare. Bodhi normally sits in a pouch in the carrier with a blanket, but I could easily fill it with a bit of bedding/nest material/substrate for hammies for the day of collection.
