thanks pompoms.... so far we getting along fine.... early days and no way can i handle them yet, soooooooo jumpy! any tips to a happy home?

They are total cuties!

Really a nice space, 70cm by 40cm is fine. Doesn't have to be an expensive cage, if you have no children or cats a tub is fine, if not a bin cage is great.

Scatter the food rather than food bowls, two wheels, a nice size sand pit (possibly two if it causes squabbles). Open nest, hidey holes tubes/tunnels wooden log with holes and wooden bridges are popular. Oh a mineral block too.

Everything they can go in to have more than one entrance/exit. Don't add everything at once, get the cage and the wheels and the sand first and let them settle, then give them one new thing at a time to see how they get on.

Let them get used to you by laying your hand in the cage with something they love on and let them come and sniff you, don't pick them up, just sit there and let them get used to getting on your hand and associating that with something nice. When they're got really relaxed with that, then go for lifting them up, and placing them gently back down again. Everything slowly and gently to gain their trust

food scattered, and working on wheel, will have to go to city for that, so will need to wait till weekend. but they happy still atm running on the wide one side by side... v cute! lol

they got a wooden tunnel and was thinking of getting a bridge... they got boxes and tubes they happy with. ignored the sand bath though, so guessing never had one.

having issues with water bottle and tank, thinking of trying the bird feeder idea ive seen on a different post. but ones i saw in town today was plastic.

have both child and cats... lol.one of my moggs likes to lay on top of tank... very interested in the wheeling robos. lol.

not disturbed them tonite so far, will try handling them again tomorrow... need to sort out this water bottle issue as the bottle ends up in woodshavings each night!
