Re: Okay...this is getting old...
Do try letting them just bite, it probably won't be too bad. Dasher nibbled me the other day as he'd just woken up, I didn't even flinch and them he sniffed me and sat next to me. Little does he know his dad would sink his teeth in, drag them side to side and draw blood. Dashers nibble was nothing!
Blowing in their faces can work, I did it to Dasher and he knew he's been naughty and sat on my hand. However, I think if they're frightened still anything at all like that will only cement their fear.
They may not be tamed, or they may be a little tamed or a little more relaxed with a huge amount of patience!
I have so far found pumpkin seeds are irresistible, meal worms are nearly always, and broccoli is a close third

What kind of mealworms? canned, dried, live? I'll try those three, I've tried broccoli though. :P

Dried for mine, I don't know whether others have tired different types. Also yoghurt drops are a winner too, but for tiny robos I only give half and very rarely.

Dried mealworms. Live ones can give a nasty nip to hammies. XD

Re: Okay...this is getting old...
Either is fine (cooked needs to be cooled right down obviously) , but raw is the most popular with hams.

Re: Okay...this is getting old...
I was wrong! Delilah is the biter and food spitter. And she's nasty. She's bite me, and if I don't react she's bite harder and pull and rip back and forth. OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW! It's painful! :\ Phoebe is actually pretty good, she'll sit in my hand pretty content once I plop her in it. But Delilah bites and bites and bites and bites. I eventually blow in her face because she's so persistent :P

Re: Okay...this is getting old...
I use freeze-dried mealworms. This kind:
Fluker's Freeze-Dried Mealworms at PETCO
My robos are not terribly keen on them, but it depends on individual hamster--Lucy loves them. I still give them to all daily, just in case.
Lucy likes to nibble me, but I think she's sort of playful about it. She'll bite harder if I let her and don't move my hand away. But it's not aggressive--she just likes it for some reason (never when I take her out though). I don't blow on her face to make her stop it, I just move my finger away out of her teeth or my whole hand and then try to pet her again. I sort of show her who the boss is and that I won't stand for it, that her biting is not going to discourage from running my finger along her back

Re: Okay...this is getting old...
Ah, Delilah sounds a bit like The Cloud with her teeth, believe me I know how much those kind of bites hurt. The Cloud never stopped biting ever his whole life, that was just him. He was much much worse in his cage though as he was incredibly territorial. I used to lift him out on his flying saucer if he was being particularly bitey!
I would also with him offer my hand as a fist with the back of my hand facing him. This way my skin was stretched really tight and he couldn't get any grip on me. He got to show his manlyness and launch his attack, and I didn't get hurt. He used to be fairly happy once he'd done this, although sometimes he was just lulling me into a false sense of security

Re: Okay...this is getting old...
I know I shouldn't give up....
But would it be entirely too irresponsible to just not tame them? I'm in fact have issues typing this, as I have four different bite wounds that bled. Never mind the others that are just tearing of the skin.
I just laid my hand out in the cage and Phoebe investigated and nibble and went on her merry little way. But Delilah smelt me and went full out crazy. She bit me and when I didn't respond bit harder and harder until I blew on her and then she jumped and moved to another spot on my hand and did the same thing. Any help? My hands are really sore after the little brat got a hold of them...
I mean that lovingly of course
