Handling Spot and White
Hi all,
Every time I take Spot and White out for some playtime on the couch, the differences between them are more and more astonishing. As White is the dominant one, she is a little bit bigger than Spot. However, Spot is the one that is interacting with me, trying to be naughty and escape, walking over my hand, my arms, she does not mind anything. And that whilst White seems completely frightend of me. I can hardly get near her with my hands. Sometimes I gently guide her to my hand and get her to sit on it, but it only lasts short and she is clearly not comfortable with it.
And spot just rages through and climbs all over me and the playground. I thought that pairs would be more likely copy eachothers behaviour, I just wish White would copy Spot a bit more and realise that mum is not scary and only wants to bribe her with tasty treats!
I will continue to take both out at the same time, but I wonder if White will ever change?

Re: Handling Spot and White
Nope I haven't had a pair with the same personality yet
Both pairs I've had have been complete opposites
I can't say whether White will ever change, in the case of my robo Dot she never did follow her sisters friendly and trusting nature. You learn to accept them as they are and love them both for their qualities.

Re: Handling Spot and White
They're all individuals, I've had 12 robos here all together, and not one has been the same as the other, they're all completely different with their own little characters.
White may gain confidence given time, she may just be very shy which given Spot's bravery is even more apparent. Don't compare them, just try to be patient with her. Daisy who i have staying with me at the moment is a very shy little girl, but she is getting a little bit brave every day, and have just about managed to summon up all her courage to come and sniff me, and to take her favorite pumpkin seeds from my fingers. She's fine when I hold her, but she's very very shy in terms of approaching.
Are you trying favorite treats with her? Nothing like a bit of bribery to get her associating you with good things and gaining trust.

Re: Handling Spot and White
Thanks all for your replies.
It's not that I don't like White, I think they both are so lovely and gorgeous, but it's sometimes hard to see her almost frightend in the corner or hiding when Spot is bashing about. I do try to bribe her a lot, but I'm still guessing what her favorite foods are. Fresh foods don't seem to get her going so I think I revert to millet or irresistable pumpkin or sunflower seeds.
At least I'm sure that it is normal for pairs to be different now, which already helps me calm down!
