Default Meshing

Hi Everyone!

I keep reading about meshing cages but have not seen any posts about how to mesh or people's experiences of meshing. Please help!

meshings not that difficult, you just need a sheet of mesh (can get from wilkos, b+q, wickes, haskins etc) that will fit the top of your cage. then you can just use good scissors to cut it to size, and then with cable ties you can just tie it on i use one cable tie like every... 6cm or so although yoou can probably do less.

I use hardware cloth for the ventilation on the sides of my cage. You can get it at stores like Home Depot. I then attatched to my bin with machine screws

I also got a vinyl-coated garden mesh from Home Depot (~$12 for a large roll) and used small zip ties to attach it to my bin:

I made holes in the plastic with a hot metal needle-like tool and pulled the zip ties through them. The mesh was easy to cut with wire cutters.

Hey thanks everyone. I live in London so I will probably go to Wickes. The photo was really useful. My zoozone 1 hasn't turned up yet so I will work it out when it's here.

Hi Tobee, the meshing isnt to hard to do though you do need a bit of patience (and probably a hand) in doing it.

You just literally cut some mesh to size and then cable tie it on. All in all it cost me about £6 for the mesh from Wilkinsons and the cable ties also from Wilkies. It's a bit fiddly and I've got plenty of scratches from the mesh but i wouldn't say it's a very difficult task.

I've attached a picture of my meshed lid. It's not perfect but it does the job.
A tip though, I found the lid of the zoozone quite difficult to lift up once all the mesh was on so I cut a few squares out near the first horiztontal bar at the front so I could hook a finger in to help lift it up. I dont know if that will get easier after use but it's quite difficult atm.

Hope ur cage turns up soon.

I've had to mesh the lid on my zoozone, its not too hard if you put ya mind to it You only need thin mesh, go for one that will bend and mold easy

I got the wilkinsons mesh earlyer today, This is for a bin cage, Do you recomend doubling it over for robos, to the holes are smaller? I doupt they will ever reach the top, I dont think its overly wide, but I will happy double it if it would be better.
Cheers for the advice!

What is the hole size vanilla? if its no more than 1cm then I would of deemed it ok. They would be more likely to squeeze out if it was more of a rectangular shape compared to square x

I think they are 1cm sq, or 1.1-1.3, it was the smallest one they had, theres no give to the squares, and as my bin is quite deep, large toys wont allow them to rach the top, but im avoiding toys like that.
they couldnt jump 1 foot up from the floor to it? Im hoping to give lots of digging area.
Sorry for the delay, I didnt see the reply ^^' I have photos of my bin cage in the d.i.y area
