Exclamation white spots?

today I separated my two female hamsters. my hamster hazel was too stressed to be with Luna as she didn't like sharing and was tense around Luna (who apparently loves to share and doesn't care if hazel squeaks).

I had noticed white patches appearing on hazels coat, I wasn't sure what it was but I assumed it was stress so I separated them. hazel seems quiet content now I'm just worried about Luna as she was desperately searching for her sister and eventually gave up and now wont come out of her tube (they kept on getting into tiffs but it was mostly luna invading hazels space however its unfair for me to keep them together if its stressing hazel out so...).

literally in a matter of hours Luna has now formed these same white patches on her coat....

now I don't know this being a possibility but they have a very pale colour for a Campbell I'm just wondering if this could mean that they are hybrids or could it be down to stress. if so what should I do

Where did you get them from? If they were from a pet shop then they're unlikely to be a true Campbells and will be a Hybrid instead. They can make nice pets but are more prone to certain health problems.

Can you get a photo of them which shows the white spots? Hybrids can change colour quite quickly so it might not be anything to worry about but if you can get a photo it will help us get an idea on what is going on.

I agree with fulffagrams, it's unlikely they're a pure campbells and a picture would definitely help! Sometimes when hamster fur is ruffed up, you can see their lighter/darker undercoat and perhaps this is what you're seeing. Definitely try to get some pictures so we can help ensure all is okay

I think I remember you saying they came from the RSPCA? As rescues you can almost guarantee they will be hybrids.

A photo would help, I've had hybrids change colour a lot but not that fast!

just too point out the whitish patchces behind her ears used to be grey and if you can see from the image there are two faded white spots on her back, they look less prominate on the photo

It looks like normal coloration to me, but someone who is experienced with dwarfs may answer this better. Cypher did mention color change and that's kind of what this appears to be to me. How old are they?

It does look like normal colour changes to me too, as they become fully grown they often change quite quickly then you tend to see more gradual changes as they age.
