Default Re: Dwarf Care - Quick Beginners Tips

Thanks guys. Some great info! Cypher + Chesca I had no idea dwarves didn't get wet tail . Purely for my own curiosity is there a partricular reason why not or is it just that they are naturally more resistant to it?

Thanks for the taming video Chesca! Definitely a good video for taming, I think often people are more visual and find watching something makes it clearer than just reading about it. I ended up sending her some links for where to buy appropriate stuff and also suggested she watch ErinsAnimals' hamster care videos on youtube - I've personally found them to be extremely helpful as well.

I'll definitely pass on the tip about useing the box the cages come in - much easier I think to start with (thanks Coco ).

I did spend some time looking online for a general care guide for hamsters but every time I read through one I'd find at least 2 great big mistakes even from very reputable animal welfare sources. The Blue Cross one even goes on about how hamster's hibernate and to just leave out extra food and water for them . I don't know why I'm so surprised but I am
