Default Are these campbells?

I bought these two for my girls for Christmas-- well that's what im saying anyway lol--- i really love them myself 😍 But anyway are they the same kind? Are they hybrids? Campbells? Petland had all the dwarfs mixed together and i had no idea at the time (aweek ago) ive been learning all i can about them since-- the white one is a hard biter-- drew blood-- gray is sweet.

Hi. Welcome to HC! Dwarf hams are very sweet and a lot of fun! Without pictures I couldn't say what you have but if they're from a chain pet store then they are unlikely to be Campbells and are most likely a "Russian" hybrid (which means that the two different species of Campbells and Winter Whites have been bred together). There are some health problems that this cross breeding can cause such as being more prone to diabetes so I think it's quite important to be fairly strict about diet - a lot of shop bought treats are far too sugary. There are some good threads on diet in the feeding boards that will help.
Also with pairs it's important to watch their behaviours as they can sometimes fight and if it gets bad they can draw blood so if they start squabbling then you may need to seperate them but again there are plenty of good threads on here for that as well as advice on how to make a suitable environment to minimise the fallouts.
Looking forward to learning more about them!

It does sound as though you have a pair of Russian hybrids Kklofton, it would be an irresponsible pet shop if they mixed up litters let alone different species so I imagine what you were seeing as dwarfs all mixed up was a litter of Russian hybrids which can vary enormously in colour & some may look more like ww or campbells but they are still hybrids.

Good advice from velma about health & keeping pairs.
A good dwarf mix & natural treats is best for them, veg is fine but fruit is best avoided.

Look forward to seeing your two when you can post photos.

Oops i thought i added the pics--

Yes, the pet shop are very wrong for mixing them, at the time I knew nothing, but with some research I know they definately had chinese dwarfs in the same place as well, there were like 25 all mixed together. When I asked them what the differences were they just said they are all dwarfs.

Here are some pics

I think they are probably campbell hybrids as Winter Whites don't come in black at all but the NHC has a Black Campbells hamster class. I think Larry-Jasper's breeder also breeds black campbells.

They are absolutely adorable !
