Re: Koala Bear
Don't know what to suggest really, I've only had one who bites & I do have to be careful just how I put my hand in her cage, she's fine outside the cage, it's never too late to go back to basics with taming though, even doing the tissue trick for some time might help them realise that your scent just isn't going to go away & biting won't help!
Do you handle them outside the cage?
Sometimes it just takes an awful lot of patience & observation to see how best to interact with them.

Re: Koala Bear
Yes, I have 4 plastic bins, they each have their own bin with toys. Rose is 20 mo old & she's not as aggressive but she'll still latch on especially in the bin, she's better in her cage? I have no idea what her logic is? She'll let me pet her while she's eating where my new red eye RCD won't let me pet them while they eat? They get spooked?
If I try to lift Cinnamon he'll get a little agressive in the bin.
Latte doesn't bite or nip but I can't hold her either, she'll sit in my hand & eat but that's about it.
They are all spoiled with treats, wheels & toys, I never make any sudden hand movements with them. Always talk baby talk & let the crawl onto my hand if they want. I just don't think I'm going to progress any further in taming them. They are fearful little creatures. Even tho they are in the same room with me most of the time except at night, but then again they get up in the mornings when they hear me up & about & they come out to get attention & treats.
I know they all like me, it's just really unfortunate that they bite/nip

Re: Koala Bear
Koala's not biting in his cage anymore. He's had the wheel a few days & I suppose he now realizes that I'm not going to steal it away from him.

Re: Koala Bear
Great news! Koala let me hold him in the air for the 1st time tonight. He went from hand to hand & seemed to enjoy sitting in my hand. We are bonding real well! At the end of the month will be his 2 mo anniversary with me.

Re: Koala Bear
Yay! Happy time! Fed him a piece of banana & a cricket this morning... not sure if that goes together? He didn't seem to mind!

Re: Koala Bear
Aww bless, glad you're making progress with him now.
I wouldn't give him banana though, far too high in sugar for a Campbells or hybrid. Better to stick to veg, crickets are good though.
