Re: Koala Bear
Oh poor Koala bear. I can see why you had to make the decision that you did.
How sad losing both bears at once. Hope you are alright.

Re: Koala Bear
Thank you FF, I'm still sad, I had to get their cages out of view as it was too much to look at their empty cages. I sometimes wonder if I should have kept his cage? But I don't want the temptation of getting another fluff right away.

Re: Koala Bear
Yes, looking at an empty cage is always hard. Is it Cinnamon Bear's cage you threw out?
If it is, I'd have done the same as his mite problem was severe.

Re: Koala Bear
Can't imagine how awful it must have been losing both babies at once You shouldn't rush into getting another hamster until you're ready. It's easy enough to get another cage xxx

Re: Koala Bear
Thanks both and your right. It was Cinnamon's cage, I got then mixed up. Cinnamon had the diabetes but not mites, still hope they sanitize cage real well. They must I'm sure!
True bad wolf another cage especially plexiglass Critter cages are my favorite over glass. I'm trying not to get another fluff though. I could get a 40 gal tank for $40 plexiglass Critter cage for a future Syrian & just not use it till the appropriate time? All that space would require a lot of money on bedding tho

Re: Koala Bear
Big cages cost more for bedding, but do keep in mind that with deep bedding in larger cages you actually don't have to completely change the bedding often at all. That's especially true of square meter and 12 inch deep cages though, which can go a year or more depending on exact size for full cleaning.

Re: Koala Bear
IKoala's bin cage is housing all my hamster supplies, isn't that great! Oh no
He had Demodex mites tho &;they can't live long without a warm host. So my supplies will be fine. I washed is real good with dish soap & vingar

Edit : I just saw how you posted big cage. Not bin cage, misunderstanding

Re: Koala Bear
If you used vinegar CB, then I'm sure it'll be fine. Koala's cage housing your hamster supplies is good, better looking at it being put to good use than seeing it empty. xx

Re: Koala Bear
I know, I got both of their cages out of sight. I didn't clean them as first, then I got on a mission.
