Re: Cinnamon Bear
I thought that the winter whites only did that? He's a RCD?
Unless they are so I'm imbred now? Just wondering if he has a different gene causing his eyes to darken too? I bought him in December 2015. He's about 5 mo old.

Re: Cinnamon Bear
RCD's and WW's turn coat colors. Whites just always turn white and RCD's lighten up. No clue about the eyes though

Re: Cinnamon Bear
That is a bit odd as it's daylight hours more than temp that trigger change if it is a winter coat change so it's getting to be time to turn back from lighter winter colours!
Is he a breeder ham CB? All my hybrids bar one have changed colour quite a bit but it's nothing seasonal just a gradual & permanent change.

No he's not a breeder hammie just a hamster I adopted from Pet-Co 2 months ago. He has doubled in size too. I'll miss those bright red eyes. Although some people prefer the darker red eyes? Doesn't matter to me but the camera still makes his eyes look bright red but they arent anymore. His fur color is really pretty tho now so I'm not complaining. Just happened so fast, wonder if he is done changing colors yet?
The photo in my signature below where he is looking at the camera is how big & red his eyes used to be.

Re: Cinnamon Bear
That might explain it then, pet shop Russians are almost certainly hybrids (regardless of what they may be labelled in store) so you can expect almost anything as far as changes go.
He may continue to change, some seem to change more than others & some not at all, they are all unique & lovely in their own way & I enjoy watching the changes & sometimes it surprises me when I look back at early photos just how much they have changed!

Re: Cinnamon Bear
Yeah, I'll just look at that he lost his baby fat
See photo below, his coat is lighter than previous pics a little but his eyes are dark now, the flash make them look bright red
