I have separate balls for both of my dwarfs, 1. so that they can both come out of the cage at the same time (to avoid jealously and things like that) and 2. it may stress them if they share balls as their scent would be on.
I'd advise two balls as the hamsters will get very stressed about the strange scents as they won't know who the other hamster is.
Yeah you got a good point there I confess I hadn't even thought about that... and my syrian will get much bigger so it probably won't be easy for my dwarf to just run on a huge ball, it can't be good so I'll get two balls instead
