Re: Pip & Squeak!
Pip and Squeak! I love it!!! I had a Syrian who was a runt and his name was Pip too. But Pip and Squeak? Perfect! LOL They are adorable. And they are in separate cages, right? Otherwise you will have a cageful of Piplets and Sqeaklets before you can blink. They look really sweet.

Re: Pip & Squeak!
actaully we thought pip and squeak were both males until pip started acting different so we pulled them out and found out that pip was a girl and we think that she could be prego and are planning on giving squeak away to a new home and keeping a girl baby so pip isnt lonely. and actually i have a question will a female hamster attack the male hamster...she just recently started doing it

Re: Pip & Squeak!
Sometimes they will attack the male and he should be removed immediately. She can hurt him. I know that the literature will say that the male helps the female, but then you run the risk of a second pregnancy since they will mate right after she gives birth to this litter. Not really good, especially at such a young age. So, Piplets and Squeaklets it is! Hamsters get along as singles quite well and they don't get "lonely". That's a human feeling. If they had been together for a long period of time, it might be a temporary issue, but yours are young, so it wouldn't be a real problem. Also, another female wouldn't guarantee a compatible pairing. Pairs living together, even for a fair long time can fall out and need to be separated. Anyone planning a pairing should have a cage set aside, ready for a falling out. I have two hybrids, Toffee & Almond. They are great together, nary a bite on either one, but I have a brand new Naturala, still in the shipping box, set aside if they ever need it. So, if you decide to keep a baby girl to live with Mama, be sure you have a cage available if they need it in future.

Re: Pip & Squeak!
ya we will be a little more prepared once the babies are older and we will probably be getting another cage just in case and if we decide to keep one of the babies...thx for the advice you all and we're hoping that squeak and the babies will find good homes (if she is prego).
