Default Hammie Fun Box!

I made a 'Fun Box' for the hamsters today. I used a shoe box size storage bin and cut a hole into the side big enough to stuff a tube into. Then I filled the box half way with sand.

They get tons of stimulation figuring out how to get in and out of the box. They get to dig and roll in the sand and really seemed to enjoy making a good ol' mess!

I got some good (ish) shots of them playing. If you look real hard you can see them playing inside the box and the tube. They are no easy targets for 'action' shots! :P

You can always tell when a good time has been had by the size of the mess!

I just wish I could figure out some way to plug up the holes in the tube. There is tiny ones all along the sides of the tubes for air ventilation and I really don't need that because they aren't living in there, only playing.

Candace, the 2 in the box where the lid is open, is Luke and Manuel. Luke is the same blue fawn I showed you in the other thread. You can always see that blue 'tinge' to his fur. It's so pretty isn't it? Why is it the boys always get the pretty coloring?

Manuel is a dove and the other one you see in the first picture is Basil. He is a satin normal.

The satins I have are extremely satin. They always look real greasy, but the mother of them is a satin but not as extreme. The extremes keep me on top of the sand boxes I tell ya!

Default Blue Fawn

it is a lovely shade - one of the prettiest of the agouti colourings I think
