Detolf Lid Complete
Finished the Detolf lid today. Luckily I didn't mess up the measurements. I never really took carpentry in school.
Cost was about $5 in wood, few dollars for some window seal for padding to sit on the bars, around $8 in handles if I recall correctly, the mesh was about $11 for a full sheet (with plenty left over) and I had to buy a stapler (about $20 + staples).
Some jagged edges on the mesh. Maybe run some silicone glue over the the jagged ends?

If you use silicon to cover the mesh edges you'll have to take it outside for 48 hours at least while it is curing. Silicon may be extremely safe when fully cured, but while it is curing it does produce unsafe fumes which shouldn't be inhaled by pets or humans!

Great job! Looks very good and well made.
You could file the sharp points on the mesh off with a small file.

Thanks =). Might do that.
Also just realized today that I will have to drill a hole to mount the 12" Silent Runner so that it fits. At least it will definitely be stable and the stand won't be in the way.
Now I kind of wish I had mounted in a board all the way across and attached hinges to that instead. Maybe later. lol
