DIY Bridge or Wall Idea
So, I was wondering if anyone has attempted to make something like this using wood dowel rods and some thin cable. All of which you can buy at a place like Lowes.
I did a quick search on Birch and it seems to be ok if the wood doesn't have any finish, chemicals, etc?
What about the wire used to hold the wood together? Any concerns about that? I know you can purchase this at Lowes too.
Would like to build a few DIY walls, bridges, etc.

Re: DIY Bridge or Wall Idea
I haven’t heard of anyone making bendy bridges. Plenty of people use wood dowels on diy platforms etc. I have heard of hammocks made from toilet rolls with sisal string threaded between them (ie to hold together a row of toilet rolls which when hung up by the end strings, dip down in the middle to make s hammock/swing.
Bendy bridges are usually fairly inexpensive. It sounds an interesting idea to make your own.

Wire shouldn't matter too much, just make sure you either turn the ends back in or don't put them all the way through the first/last dowels. Don't want any sharp bits sticking out.

I've seen someone on line make their own bendy bridges, Like Salem says you just need to make sure you do something with the sharp pointy ends.

Yea, just where the hole is drilled have the wire tight enough that it's a bit inside the hole. Shouldn't be too hard I guess.

Re: DIY Bridge or Wall Idea
Haven't tried it myself but someone here did it with twigs.
DIY Bending bridge
I use dowels a lot for shelf legs & they're fine to use.

I make my own bendy bridges often! just-don't use them as walls, because feet can get caught in the gaps.

Hm, what I did recently is just take some actual wood and cut it to the Detolf width and the height I needed. Next to that I put the "corner platform" I made as a way to step up to it and cross.
