Default Can I use Tempura paint?

I made a structure out of water and paper towels. now that it's dry, I want to paint it. I think I've heard that nontoxic paint is safe, but I wanted to double check. Is tempura paint safe? It says nontoxic on the bottle.

Non toxic to humans doesn't necessarily mean non toxic to hamsters. Any paint regardless of non toxic or not if chewed and potentially ingested would be a safety risk, and you should also paint anything outside and let it dry outside just to be completely safe even with seemingly "fume free" paints(animal lungs and noses are far more sensitive than any human ones).

i wouldnt use this specific tempera but you can actually make tempera paint- it is quite literally just egg and pigment. it was used in the 1500s for a lot of artwork but was knocked out of use by the invention of oil paint. its a bit more complicated than just stirring egg and powdered plants together but if you do some practice runs and read some good tutorials on how to make egg tempera its pretty simple.

Personally I've been wanting to experiment with completely natural DIY paints but as I haven't had any pets that could actually use them I haven't been able to do any testing. It is a very interesting idea though as long as you're careful to only use safe ingredients!

That is interesting. So egg and beetroot would make a purple paint?
