Default DIY plastic shelf for the not too DIY savvy

This is a project I did for my mice but figured someone here may also find it useful.

Mice have to have plastic as wood would get pee soaked very quickly. This meant being very flirty at the builders merchants to get wood cut to size was out. And I sure couldn't be trusted with any kind of saw.

Unfortunately my mouse's new black Friday bargain habitat came with the dreaded wire floors. Otherwise it was a dream cage.

Anywho I finally got to IKEA to work out something hacky. (I'd tried other things in the mean time but ultimately failed up until this.

I got lots of different options to try (I returned everything else) but the option that worked was the cheapest! Bonza!

I used this https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/baggmuc...grey-60329711/

It was really easy to cut with a Stanley knife and provides a great solid wipe clean floor and no sharp edges and it was only £2.50. I scored it on the first run then second went straight through to the plank I was using to protect the carpet.

The mice loved it. I am feeling better about their floor. No body lost a finger to a saw. 😁
