A roll of mesh costs 10 at B&Q. They also sell sheets of mesh for around 6 which should be enough to mesh a Samla including a window.

Is this a mesh that would work? And thank you for all of your help!

I also found this, could this work?

This B&Q mesh is a bit too big. I use the 0.5 inch x 0.5 inch squares mesh from B&Q. Sold in a roll or sheet in the garden section. I don't think insect mesh is suitable because its too fine.

Here's a close up photo of the mesh i use.

Insect mesh is unsuitable for multiple reasons. As Ria P mentioned it is too fine, but it also is pretty much always a much softer material that hamsters could easily chew through and either ingest, get somehow stuck in in various ways, or even escape.

Mesh must be rigid, chew proof, and appropriately sized. 12.7 mm/0.5 inch is the largest the opening should be. Clearly with that in mind the 25mm wire mesh fencing has much too large of an opening to be safe since it is nearly twice the maximum safe spacing!

This is the smallest I could find from b&q at 13mm, I feel as though this is too big for a dwarf though? Ria can you remember the name of the mesh? Or is it just an in-store thing?

If im reading it right it has a 12*12mm spacing although i'm interested in the specific mesh you used Ria as it looks very good in your cage!

Ps. The barred cage he is in right now has 1cm bar spacing, and he hasn't even attempted to get out.

I found this on sale, 13mm I think that should be okay? I've been looking around all day lol

13mm is roughly 1/2" which I think is an accepted size, I think I'm gonna go with this one? I'll wait a couple of hours for some responses but this seems to be my best option and I've been looking around for the past couple of days

13mm is alright but you can get a mesh smaller than the one i use for my cages at B&Q if you prefer. I have used smaller mesh on a cage i made for someone else.
I can go to B&Q tomorrow and take photos of the mesh labels because i can't remember what it is called.

Edit: I somehow managed to forget that a family member works right next to b&q and has offered to run and get it between now and the 5th, although I think I can just give them the points of
Metal
6mm/0.5" spacing

and let the staff help them find it.

Depends how many panels you want. I'm just in the process of converting a spare Samla and used two lid panels at 51cm x 13cm, a front window 32cm x 18cm and a small 27cm x 7cm back vent. That's the sizes of the mesh panels used.
Best for you to measure where you want what and then do the math.
I'm going to attach the lid panels now.
