Rat sputniks make good hammock equivalents But if you're looking for crafts to make then that doesn't help!

Someone on here made some very nice tunnels by wrapping (glueing) sisal string round the outside of pringles tubes

Also your son might like some of the ideas on this video. I've made the parcel and a sort of version of the hammock from this (but I used an egg box carton after seeing the idea on a link of Vectis's). Sisal string and thicker sisal rope are very handy to have around.

We made some of the treat tubes for our last hammy she loved them great idea about the wrapping sisal string we might have a go at that. Got a few things we could make as we have a homemade for hamsters book

I've heard of it but not seen it. With just about everything for hamsters, some ideas are great and some you have to look at the safety aspect There are lots of lollypop houses that risk collapsing and hurt a hammy.

Most the toys we will make will be for playpen. Might make a few ground toys and climbing toys. The books not too bad some stuff is purely frustrating lol and they are very vague on materials in there (safety wise)

I use these grass hammocks from zooplus https://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small...es/mats/204595

Lollipops houses can be safe depending on how you build them. I’ve got quite a few lollipop houses and platforms for my hamsters.

Sounds interesting! Do share any good projects you make! Hamsters aren't that interested in climbing really - unless it's to look for food or an escape route! They do climb but they're not good at getting down again so tend to just drop if they climb too far. I'm sure low climbing toys are fine though.

Some childrens toys can be interesting in a playpen too We had the Octopod which was perfect for a hamster - he ran up the tunnel and into the control room and into all the little pods! He has also been in a jeep and on top of an x wing fighter lol

You just need to check the toys for safety in case there's anything they can get stuck in or hurt themselves on.

Papermache houses are really cute, I tried making a few but I’m not very good at it yet lol You’ll have to post your creations once they’re finished so we can all see them

Awesome! We have quite a few cornish members now
