Smile DIY bin cage for Pip!

Hello all,

I recently came upon a bit of extra money and I made my little guy a better home

I originally had him in a 10 gal tank as it was the only thing I had on hand when I brought him home, but I was able to transfer him temporarily to a 20 gal tank while I worked on this project.

The total cost for the bin cage was about $30, $10 for the bin, $12 for the wire mesh and $5 for the zip ties, plus sales tax and such. I didn't have a hot knife on hand so I honestly used a box cutter and heated it with a kerosene lamp lol. My dad is a big fix-it guy and has a plethora of tools in his toolbox so I quickly found wire cutters and a drill. I had to work on the project over a couple of days as I only had limited time in between finishing finals for school (college) and having to go to work, but I'd say I put in a total of about 5 hours into this project. Pip likes it a lot and has a lot more room now!

I made my own DIY cage too. Although it needed lots of work and effort, but it was glad when I see my hamster enjoying it! I am sure Pip love his new house too.
