Hot glue is regarded as being safe however I would still take precautions with using it by making sure the glue say non-toxic plus ensuring your hamster can’t get to it to chew the glue or swallow any (as it won’t be digested if swallowed). As well as removing any items that you have used hot glue with and removing it if your hamster shows any interest in chewing it.

I only use it occassionally with my DIY’s never encountered an issue with my hamster wanting to chew it but it always best to be cautious and monitor very closely.

Hi, I have been searching everywhere to find out if Pritt craft PVA glue would be safe to use for hamster projects. I have a tube of this but don't know if I could use it for my hamster houses etc. It says it is "safe, solvent free" glue and complies with "stringent EC child safety legislation" but it also says not suitable for children under 36 months, but this could just be because it "contains small parts" ie the plastic screw top? I can't find out if it is actually non toxic. Please does anyone know, or am I better just to buy one that is definitely labelled non toxic? Thanks!
