DIY cage for Seed
Hi guys!
I have been planning to build a cage for Sesame Seed since the day a got him (a month ago) and finally we did it!
Ta-da!
Size: 85*50*45 cm
With some bedding.
We will be adding another lock to the second door and making some small adjustments, but I really wanted to share it with you
Seed is moving in tomorrow (with a part of his current bedding, toys and houses) and I hope he'll enjoy his new home.
A bonus pic - Seed reaching for the camera

Re: DIY cage for Seed
Wow, that sure is a grand palace!!! Seed sure will be thrilled with the masterpiece you created for him. It was sure worth the wait, and it looks like he is trying to give you and your camera a few appreciative whisker kisses for all of your hard work, lol. Great job on the cage and sweet pic of your darling. Although hammies are excellent climbers, the only thing that I would suggest is that the hanging toy may need to have some sort of backing (possibly popsicle sticks) so that Seed will not fall through or get trapped in the holes. I look forward to seeing the entire cage with all of Seed's toys, houses, etc. in his new setup.

Re: DIY cage for Seed
Thank you, @dreamtree1234 ! This cage was harder to make than the one for my piggies, heh. And it's weirdly addictive O.O
Thank you for your suggestion! I'm looking at this toy and trying to figure out what to do with it. To be honest, I thought it would be like 3 times smaller when I was ordering it from zooplus, lol.

Great work! That looks really lovely.
I really wouldn't bother with the hanging toy tbh, it's not the kind of thing a ham could have much use for or use safely.
The shelf looks a little high, are you going to make any more ramps, maybe something on the front side for easy access & to prevent any falls or could you maybe lower it a little?

Wow that's amazing! A fantastic cage/habitat Agree with Cypher about the hanging toy but the shelf looks ok to me - if he jumps off he can land on nice soft substrate. Open ladders/ropes can lead to hammies getting tangled or feet caught up or other injuries. It's not too high up but might be better with something else instead. Just a safety thing. Maybe a large tube/tunnel leading up there? I like the cork logs.

Thank you, @cypher
I am planning to add a bit more bedding and place his wooden house (with a flat roof) in front of the shelf so it would be like a "stair". Just in case a have a spare bendy bridge that I could attach to the shelf.

Re: DIY cage for Seed
Good idea with the house, that should work well & you can never have enough bendy bridges
