Default Mesh??

So I'm making the lids for a detolf right now and I have the frames ready but I'm not sure what mesh to get. I'm worried about it being too sharp on the edges.

Heres the mesh that I'm considering:

Wilkio Welded Gauge Mesh 60 x 150cm at wilko.com

Wickes 6mm Galvanised Mesh Panel 600 x 900mm | Wickes.co.uk

I also found pvc coated mesh at homebase but I don't think its safe?? I would really like to get Doris into the detolf today!

Default Re: Mesh??

Coated mesh definitely isn't safe, out of the two you linked to I think the first one would be better, it should be stronger & as long as it's for a syrian 13mm is ok.
How are you fixing it to the frames? You need a decent pair of wire cutters ideally so you can cut as close as possible to avoid sharp bits anywhere but if you're fixing it to the outside of a wooden frame then it's safe enough for your ham & only your fingers you need worry about with sharp bits!
