Default DIY Hideouts?

Our new Russian Dwarf isn't sleeping her in igloo at all. I think it might be a bit big (she was much smaller than anticipated) so I want to make a DIY one? Anyone have any suggestions? It'd be great it it could last long and not be ripped to shreds in a few days and also if it was slightly heavy so it wouldn't be knocked down easily.

I would use a old tissue box or q-tip box. These are great beacause your hammie can chew them, but they make steady hideouts.

Like said above, a tissue box works well! You could also use old cereal boxes, shoeboxes, and old ceramic mugs. There's lots of DIY threads on here that you can check if you want to build a popsicle house using a non-toxic elmers glue

Mugs are great, since you can pop them into the freezer during the summer to keep your hams cool. It's normal though for a hammie to not sleep in their hideout.

A small (cleaned) ceramic pot on its side filled with soft bedding works for something your ham won't turn. A tissue box works well too, as said above. To make it more private, you can measure out cardboard to fit the top. Cut out a reasonable-sized hole on the side of the tissue box or in the cardboard so the ham can get in and out. Glue the cardboard to the top of the tissue box and viola!

I added a small-ish terracotta plant pot for my girl to use as a potty instead of peeing in her house. Now she has decided she doesnt want to sleep or horde in the house, the pot is the place to be. She has dragged loads of substrate in there and either kreps her horde at the base of the pot or just outside. Great little find for 85p

I'd go with the tissue box or shoe box as well. With the shoe box you can cut the bottom out and make a hole in the long side for a door and keep the lid as a lift-off roof so you can check inside without having to take the house out and keep their nest in tact. Any shoe box is ok really but children's shoe boxes can be quite neat.

Also a coconut hut tends to be popular as it's round and natural texture - maybe not as a permanent house but as an extra hideout.
