Plastikote
Is there an alternative? (In U.K.)
And is the spray paint version of plastikote ok to use?
I can't find plastikote in the paint near me. No B&Q sadly

Re: Plastikote
You can get plastikote online, Amazon among others sell it.
I'm not sure about the spray but think it's best to use the water based enamel brush on paint.
Some people have used cuprinol garden shades paint which is pet safe, I have used it (not for hams) & found it to have a very strong smell that takes some time to go so you would need to air anything you painted for quite a while before using it.

Re: Plastikote
Perhaps milk paint with the same brand's seal?I believe I found it on Hobbycraft, but that would be a good alternative if not potentially safer with a decent range of color options from what I've seen

Re: Plastikote
I found the milk paint online & it does look safe enough but couldn't find any info about the sealant except that it's oil based, do you know what's in it Amity?

Re: Plastikote
The sealant is water based from what I'm seeing. It is a bit strange, but the UK one I've seen is FolkArt brand and is water based not oil based.

Re: Plastikote
Do you have a The Range store near to you? As they also sell plastikote (only in store) for £3.49 a pot. This is where I get my plastikote from.

Re: Plastikote
If you haven't already placed your order, I choose one of the "other sellers" so it doesn't have to be an add-on item. This is the link I use for the clear, paint on, water based one. Click on "18 new". I've bought it from AP Motor Store before
