Re: Toy box hamster house
That looks brilliant. How do you open the perspex front? I am trying to design a cage for my new syrian.

That's brilliant! Great idea - I wondered about blanket boxes when I had some vague idea of doing diy

Heyy! Thanks guys! Firstly, this was advertised as a toy box/blanket box...I'd say more a blanket bod anyway, just removed the front panel!
As for the perspex front, I originally had it on a hinge along the bottom (piano hinge) and then had clips on the side of the toy box near the top to claps the door shut, but now I'm drilled 3 holes on each side and I take it on and off by undoing butterfly nuts. I screwed bolts into the 3 hols on either size and then the same on the perspex. Placed the bolts in place, put on the perspex and then secure it tight with butterfly nuts. Sounds time consuming but so quick to do! But I normally just open from the top now, even for cleaning, no trouble at all!

I have this bottle for her: https://www.hamster-homes.com/shop/l...-water-bottle/
It has a metal bracket that hooks on a normal cage and then bends down and around the front of the part you take off, to hold it up...if that makes sense? You can kind of see it in the image?
So all I did was drill small holes at a slight downward angle from the inside so the bracket would hook on...makes sense in person and seems more obvious. It also has another support around the top, it's like a spring and it would also clip onto a cage, but I used some simple metal eye screws
