Jax seems very happy running about and exploring his new home. He's nipping a bit when we get him out and still a bit nervous but that's something we can work on . We decided to do the kalax diy home as we really like the modern look of the Qute omlet cages but we read they wasn't very suitable.Plus it gave us the opportunity to give jax more space without sacrificing to much of our floor space.

This looks great! I love DIY!

Does Jax have both the levels?
What is the floor space of 1 level?

There is a tube above his house which he darts up and down so he has access to both levels(which he seems to use equally) each level is 70cm wide by 40cm deep

That looks awesome! I might have to do this rather then have Billy Extension cages xD

I've seen a few of these before and my question is how do you access the hamster? How do you get them out and change their food? In Parzivals pic there's like a wee perspex wall - is there no other front, will that really keep the hamster in? Maybe the scale is off in my mind.
