It looks nice and allows for good depth of substrate which is great for hamsters who like to dig.

Thank you Winnie!
I remembered my question from yesterday lol. Could I get away with only cleaning it out every 2 months? I spot clean every time I see a little turd and he pees in his sand bath and nest. The amount of bedding I used was scary lol. I ended up using over half of my big 15kg bag of hemp (and I want deeper bedding ) Would I get away with it? And even when I do clean it I will probably only take the top layer. Thanks xx

If you have deeper bedding it shouldn't be a problem doing full cleans only every 2 months!Just spot clean as you've been doing and since he has his chosen areas to go it's very easy to maintain the whole cage with only doing full cleans every 2 months if not possibly less.

Thank you! That's great. I will probably buy some more bedding and add more in in a month and redo the setup so he isn't bored. I'll see how it goes for a month then make a decision.

So lovely!! Did you plastikote that wooden wheel? I've been wanting to get one, but I don't have the space to varnish it at the moment.

I didn't plastikote the wheel no. Before people say I should Percy is the strangest hamster alive. He has never peed anywhere but his sand bath and nest so I thought there was no need really. He also is a chewer so I was put off because he sometimes nibbles the base. (not really damaging it) When he does that I get a little big of sand paper and smooth it over. I would recommend this wheel a hundred times over! Such a great wheel and value for money. (I got mine from zooplus when it was on sale, you may have to wait for it to be reduced again) I think I like it soo much because I'm not a fan of plastic, anywhere. I would recommend buying it.

Well if he's that polite you probably don't have to. I'd have to have it Imported if I got one.
