Thumbs up DIY 2-story hamster hideout

I just recently made this 2-story hideout. I wanted to upgrade her hideout but I couldn't find anything with 2 stories like I wanted. So I decided to make her this. This is going to be her X-mas present. I hope it will be a success!

What you need:

*Cardboard
*Fairly sharp scissors
*Construction paper (different colors of your choice)
*Ruler
*School glue
*Pen
*And popsicle sticks

MAKING THE BOTTOM STORY
First, get the cardboard and cut two 7 (width) x 5 (height) pieces, two
5 (width) x 5 (height), five 4 (width) x 5 (height) pieces, one 6 (width) x 6 (height), and one 7 (height) x 3 (width).Note: All these measurements are in inches.

Next, take all your pieces and wrap each of them in construction paper. To get the ends to stay together, glue them. I wouldn't recommend tape if you have a chewy hamster. Try to make sure you cover the whole thing. Note: If you want something more fancy to wrap them in, then you can use wrapping paper if you prefer.

Then, take one of your 7 (width) x 5 (height) wrapped pieces of cardboard. Trace the size and shape of the door you want for your hamster to get in and out of. Note: For the door, you might want to get the brightest color of wrapped cardboard so it will be more attractive.

After that, glue the 5 x 5 pieces to each side of the piece of cardboard with the door in it. Once that dries, glue the last 7 x 5 piece of cardboard to the back. Once the whole thing dries, add the 6 x 6 piece to the top for the roof. And wait.

MAKING THE SECOND STORY AKA THE FOOD STORE

First, take the brightest color of 4 x 5 wrapped cardboard and trace a hole for the door. Cut it out.

Next, take another 4 x 5 wrapped cardboard and glue it to the other 4 x 5 cardboard that has the door in it. Wait for the glue to dry. Then glue another 4 x 5 cardboard to the other side of the door. Wait again for it to dry. Glue another 4 x 5 cardboard to complete it so it is a complete rectangle.

After that, glue the last 4 x 5 cardboard to the top.

HOW DO I GET TO THE TOP STORY?? SQUEAK SQUEAK!

First, take the 7 x 3 cardboard and glue popsicle sticks to it. Note: The popsicle sticks should be at least an inch apart.

Next, glue the 'ladder' to the roof. Not the roof of the second story Glue it to the roof of the first story.

AND...... YOU'RE DONE!!

I hope this is a hit for you and your hams! It will make an awesome X-mas present. Enjoy!
