Default DIY 'snuggle tube' :)

Hi just thought i'd share this cheap & easy to make snuggle tube i made. Its really simple & i use it for my eldest ham Patch who isn't well atm and he lies in it for a good 10 or so mins on my knee after having his medicine.

I made it using an extendable tube & a piece of fleece. I used the extendable tube because i needed something with a big diameter as Patch is bloated rn - a regular pringles tube or similar would probably.work tho
Please note you should supervise your ham with this at all times
Hope you's like it anyway Here it is & with patch in it:

Awe! So cute! Scarlet would like that. Right know i am trying to find out how to make her a homemade playpin. WIth supervision of course! As it is just a cardboard box with tall sides and a big space for her to run around!

Nice idea! I have to constantly watch Charlie with fleece, even out of the cage, or he tries to pull at it a bit! If I say no he stops. Tries again, I say no again and he gives up lol. If he doesn't give up I take it away from him, then give it back and then he usually gives up lol!

The cardboard box playpen sounds good Scargirl!

Thanks. I am going to try to get that done by christmas and also the ham-mock. I have a hanging tube DIY project but haven't posted yet. I will post how I made the playpen (including the toys), the hanging tube, and the ham-mock. For christmas feast and thanksgiving feast I will make her a little table and post both on the gallery!

Hi Secretly. That is a truly great idea. I especially like the nice firm tube. I've had sick or elderly hamsters who would have been a whole lot more comfortable in one of those. I usually carry them around in a small fleece blanket, but I think it still jostles them, no matter how gentle I try to be. Your idea would keep them from moving around when I shift the blanket.
I think that as Patch gets older and more frail you will find that to be a blessing. Patch is still looking good.
