Christmassy treat snowball! (My take on treat parcel!)

I'm not sure if anyone has had this idea, but I thought I would share anyway!

Most of us here are aware of the treat parcel? Okay well I've added an extra piece of fun on this well known DIY treat!

Quite simply, I've wrapped toilet tissue around the ball and used something thin (I used a small nail file) to push the paper in between the pieces of tube (So no need to make pet safe glue!)

If you wanted to take this a step further, you could wet the tissue and allow it to dry, leaving a small hole to add treats. That would make the ball more of a chew toy as it would dry hard! However Pikachu LOVES toilet roll for her nest! So I've left mine dry, so she can use it as bedding material after she's done snacking!

Very fitting for Christmas! And even later in the year, you could use fruit and veg to make pet-safe-tasty-paint to flavour and colour the ball to make it look pretty!

I hope Pikachu likes it! I'll post updates when she wakes up to find it!

Sorry for picture quality, too lazy to move the photos over from my phone so just sent them over on Facebook to save them from there haha!

Safe to say the parcel was a big success! I put it in her cage ready for when she wakes up this evening, and she actually got up to see it straight away and went mad! (It's 3:40pm here, so she's never up at this time!)

Only thing I would say is don't leave a hammy alone with this one, she looked like she could have gotten her head stuck in it a few times. She didn't get her head stuck, she was just being greedy! But just in case!

I'm literally making on right now, CeeCee just got done with her first eggbox so she needs a new challenge

In fact I feel quite terrible, I used blunt scissors for cutting which as you can see in the photo I just posted made the edges all jiggery jaggery and I didn't think it would be a bad thing.. but then I didn't know that Pikachu would go CRAZY over this treat! She was on a mission! I've never seen her move so fast after just waking up! She even threw it in he air like a ball! But.. Just found a few blood specks on the cardboard, so I think she caught her mouth on the jagged edge or something. It's only a little bit, so I'm sure she'll be fine! But I've learnt for next time to use GOOD scissors!

Silly me! :c Will deffo do it again though!

I'm just thinking with the little bit of blood... I bit the inside of my lip pretty badly getting too excited over chicken last night, maybe Pikachu is a kindred greedy spirit <3
