Could this be made into a hamster cage??

Now my rabbit has to go back outside either this weekend or next weekend, depending on how her leg is as she hurt it. I will have an empty rabbit cage. It is pretty big (37.5 inches x 18 inches x45inches high) Now i was thinking it could possibley make a fab hamster cage! The only trouble is the bars are way to far apart! So what do you think i could do to make it suitable for a hamster?? This cage only cost me 6 pounds on ebay, and its new! i would hate to get rid of it, and it works out well. If i can make it suitable for a hamster, mum may let me have one!

So here is the cage.... What do you all think?

To make it suitable for a hamster, you would have to buy a finer mesh, which I think you can get at garden stores and places similar. It would probably require quite a lot, but if you cold manage that, then yes, it would make a brilliant hammy cage, with lots of room!

i know ill have to put something to make the bars smaller. What could i use? xx

u can use wire mesh

to be honest if the bars are the wrong size and the gaps are too big it probably wont look very good covered in wire. can you measure the size of the gaps and post it on here to make sure it is too big as it may be ok??? x
